Accessibility statement

We want everyone to be able to use this website, whatever device, browser, or assistive technology they use.

Sample document for review

This statement describes how the template was built. The organization should test its finished site, update this statement with its own findings, and add a review date.

1. Our approach

The site aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. Design and content decisions favour clarity, readable text, and predictable navigation.

2. Accessibility features

  • A “skip to main content” link at the top of every page
  • Menus that open with a click, tap, or keyboard, and close with the Escape key
  • Visible focus indicators on links, buttons, and form fields
  • Form fields with labels, clear error messages, and announcements for screen readers
  • Colour contrast chosen to meet AA requirements for text
  • Animations that are reduced or removed when your device asks for reduced motion
  • Descriptive text alternatives for meaningful images

3. Known limitations

The demo site has not yet been tested by people using a wide range of assistive technologies. Any issues found during testing should be listed here with a plan to fix them.

4. Feedback and contact

If you have difficulty using any part of this website, please email hello@commongood.example (placeholder address) or use our contact page. Tell us the page and the problem, and we will respond with the information in a format that works for you.

Statement to be reviewed and dated by the organization after testing the live site.
