School Access
We work with families and schools to identify what stops a child attending, then help with practical steps such as school supplies, transport costs, or support with enrolment paperwork.

Program area 01

Learning is easier when the basics are in place: a way to get to school, the right materials, and a calm space to study. Our education work focuses on removing those everyday barriers.
We work with schools, parents, and local volunteers, so that support fits the community rather than replacing what already works.
Notebooks, stationery, and bags provided at the start of each term.
Small groups led by trained volunteers, focused on reading and maths.
Short practical courses such as sewing, basic repairs, and digital skills.
Regular check-ins between young people and a volunteer mentor.

Volunteer tutors run small reading and maths groups after school. Sessions take place in community spaces that are supervised, accessible, and free to attend.
Short courses and mentoring help young people build confidence and practical skills. Course topics are chosen with local employers and the young people themselves.

Sample program
Many children have nowhere quiet to study after school. Homes can be crowded, and libraries may be far away or close early.
Community Learning Spaces turn existing local rooms into safe, supervised study areas after school, with learning materials and volunteer tutors on hand.
Each learning space is run with a local host — usually a school, library, or community centre — that already knows the families it serves.
Parents and young people are invited to quarterly feedback sessions, and what we hear shapes the next term's timetable and activities.
