What a food packing day looks like
A behind-the-scenes demo story following volunteers through a sample weekly packing and delivery day.

Context
Morning: sorting and packing
Volunteers arrive mid-morning to sort deliveries from partner suppliers. Fresh food is checked, long-life items are counted, and parcels are packed using a simple checklist.
Each parcel is labelled only with a reference number and delivery route, so that families' details stay private.
Afternoon: deliveries
Drivers take parcels out along set routes. Families who prefer to collect can do so at a quiet time slot, without queues.
Respect at every step
Volunteers are briefed on dignity and confidentiality before their first shift. The goal is that receiving help feels as ordinary as possible.
Community voice
Summarized themes from feedback. No direct quotes are used in demo content.
- Volunteers on packing days often describe the work as practical and social — a chance to help and to meet people from across the community.
